Run your whole practice. Prepare every document.
Counsel is practice management and document generation for law firms — bankruptcy, estate planning, and 10+ more practice areas, in any state, under your firm's brand.
What it does
Case & client pipeline
Track people from prospective client through retained through active matter — with tasks, a timeline, and every stage in between.
12 practice areas
Bankruptcy Ch. 7, estate planning, family law, personal injury, immigration, business, real estate, civil litigation, criminal, landlord/tenant, probate, and utilities & regulatory — each with its own purpose-built workflow.
Document generation
Upload your own .docx templates. The app reads the fill-in fields automatically, you fill them on a case, and it produces the finished document.
Multi-state
Estate documents adapt per state — community-property rules, signing requirements, and templates. Federal bankruptcy works nationwide.
White-label
Every document and the entire app carry your firm's name. The platform underneath stays invisible to your clients.
Flat-fee billing
Fee agreements and payment plans via Stripe, with a paid-in-full gate before filing.
Documents on every matter
Upload, store, and download files on any case — no separate document system to manage.
How to use it
- 1
Sign in with your firm credentials
Your firm controls who has access. No public sign-up — accounts are provisioned by your firm.
- 2
Prepare a new case
Add the client, retain them, and choose the practice area. The right pipeline sets up automatically.
- 3
Work the matter
Move it through its stages, complete the checklist tasks, log notes to the timeline, attach documents, and set up flat-fee billing.
- 4
Upload your templates
On the Templates page, upload your own .docx documents for each practice area — and for estate and other multi-state work, per state. The app reads their fill-in fields automatically.
- 5
Generate documents
On a matter, pick a template, fill the fields it pulls out, and download the finished document — authored as your firm.
- 6
For estate matters, use the guided interview
Walk through marital status, children, distribution, power of attorney, healthcare directive, and property, then generate the full will/trust package for the client's state.
